Martin Johnson . Producer and Director

Martin Johnson was nominated for a BAFTA TV award as Editor in 2003 for factual entertainment, and, in 2020, for the Royal Television Society (RTS) awards for programme content sequences. As a Director, Martin is responsible for “Adventures in space and time” and “The planets” (PBS, BBC, Apple TV) both with Professor Brian Cox. He was a writer on “The planets”.  He has been both Producer and Director for various productions, including “Mars: One day on the red planet” (National Geographic), “Operation Grand Canyon” with Dan Snow, “The human body: Secrets of your life revealed” (BBC 2), and “The secrets of your food” with Dr Michael Moseley. His editorial work has included “Infested! Living with parasites” and “Inside the human body” (BBC) both with Michael Moseley, “City beneath the waves: Pavlopetri” narrated by Philip Glenister, “Wonders of the solar system” and “Wonders of life” (BBC) both with Professor Brian Cox, “Horizon” (BBC), “Orbit” with Kate Humble, “D-Day: The last heroes” with Dan Snow, “The Edwardian country house” (PBS) narrated by Sir Derek Jacobi, and the docu-drama “Ancient Rome: The rise and fall of an empire” featuring Michael Sheen, James D’Arcy and Sean Pertwee.

Patrick Acum . Director of Photography

Patrick Acum has 25 years of experience in the broadcast TV industry. His work can be seen on the BBC, NatGeo, Disney+, Channel 4, and PBS among others. He has worked in a diverse range of productions from major Disney projects to smaller, independent productions at the BBC. As cameraman, some of Patrick’s credits include: “ADHD and me”, “Inside the autistic mind” (Grierson Award Winner) and “Earth” all with Chris Packham (BBC); “Human” with Ella Al Shamahi (BBC); “Walking with dinosaurs 2” (BBC); “Dinosaurs: The final day”, “Extinction: The facts” and “Climate change: The facts” all with David Attenborough (BBC); “Universe” with Brian Cox (Nova); “Jack the ripper: The case reopened” with Emilia Fox (BBC); “Secrets of the Neanderthal” (Netflix); “The secrets of the universe” with Tim Peake (Apple TV, Paramount+); “Wonders of the moon” with Dara O’Briain; “The world according to Jeff Goldblum” (Disney); “Limitless” with Chris Hemsworth (Disney); “Art that made us” (BBC); “New model agency” (Channel 4); “Operation Grand Canyon” with Dan Snow (BBC); and “Civilisations” with Simon Schama (BBC). Patrick has travelled extensively and roughed it in deserts, mountain ranges and jungles. He started his career as a scriptwriter and 3-machine linear editor for a local production company after completing his degree from Leeds University. This early experience gave him a unique perspective on the production process. As a dedicated cameraman, he strives to ensure there is a clear understanding of the project's vision, scope, and locations before the shoot.

Thuy Hoang

Since reaching the Quarterfinals of BBC’s MasterChef in 2023, Thuy Hoang has rapidly risen to become a leading name in Vietnamese cuisine in the UK. Thuy was born in Saigon (now called Ho Chi Minh City) in Vietnam. She came to the United Kingdom at the age of nine as a refugee. Thuy ​judges for prestigious national food industry awards: the UK Quality Food Awards, the Great Taste Awards (Guild of Fine Food) and the Great British Food Awards. She has published various articles with recipes, including in Great British Food and Essex Life magazines. In 2025, she published a review of London’s Vietnamese restaurants in Time Out.

Thuy has appeared extensively as a chef-presenter on stages at food festivals across the UK, including: at Knebworth House, Ashridge House, Lydiard Park, Dinton Pastures, Hampton Court Palace, Brands Hatch, and The Hurlingham Club; at the BBC Good Food Show, National Exhibition Centre; and at House and Garden magazine's Spirit of Christmas and the Ideal Home Show, Olympia London. She cooked on stage at Chris Evans’ CarFest in 2025 where she was also interviewed by Mark Wogan (Chef and Broadcaster, Virgin Radio). It was a chef line-up that included Cherish Finden, Michael Caines, Rosemary Shrager and Si King of the Hairy Bikers. ​​​​Thuy has also been chef for corporate dining experiences for central London businesses. She teaches cooking classes at Jeremy Pang's award-winning School of Wok in Covent Garden, with sold out classes.
